Manage Contact Types

Contact Types Management
The Contact Types Management screen allows administrators to define and maintain the different types of contacts used throughout the system. Contact types are used to categorize contacts associated with customers, suppliers, and other entities (for example: Sales, Supplier Info, or Default).
These contact types are referenced in contact records and help ensure consistent classification and reporting.
Navigation
To access Contact Types Management:
- Open the General menu from the top navigation bar.
- Select Contact Types.
This opens the Contact Types Management screen, displaying all configured contact types.

Contact Types Grid Overview
The Contact Types grid displays all configured contact types and includes the following information:
- Contact Type ID – The unique system identifier for the contact type
- Contact Type Name – The descriptive name of the contact type (for example, Sales or Supplier Info)
- Last Modified By – The user who last updated the contact type
- Last Modified On – The date the contact type was last modified
Each row includes Edit and Delete actions.
You can use the column filters and search fields to quickly locate specific contact types.

Creating a New Contact Type
To create a new contact type:
- Click + New Contact Type.
- Enter a Contact Type Name.
- Click Save Contact Type to create the contact type.
Click Cancel to discard changes and return to the grid without saving.

Editing a Contact Type
To edit an existing contact type:
- Locate the contact type in the grid.
- Click Edit next to the required record.
- Update the Contact Type Name as needed.
- Click Save Contact Type to apply the changes.
Click Cancel to exit edit mode without saving.

Deleting a Contact Type
To delete a contact type:
- Click Delete next to the contact type you want to remove.
- A confirmation dialog appears.
- Click Yes to confirm deletion, or No to cancel.
Note: Contact types that are in use may be restricted from deletion to prevent data inconsistencies.
Important Notes
- Contact types help standardize how contacts are categorized across the system.
- Changes to contact types may affect contact entry and reporting.
- It is recommended to carefully review existing usage before deleting a contact type.
Navigation Grids, Search and Filters
This screen uses a standard grid controls for searching, filtering, sorting, and managing records.
The grid provides the following tools:
- Column filters to narrow results by specific fields (such as IDs, names, notes, and modification details)
- Inline search fields below column headers for quick, column-specific filtering
- Global search bar for keyword-based searching across visible data
- Column sorting by clicking column headers
- Grid actions including export, refresh, auto-fit columns, and column visibility customization
